Located in Mission, Kansas, Encore at Mission is a new construction multifamily community of 180 units that takes its design cue directly from its name, reinterpreting traditional Mission style architecture for a modern residential audience. KBID is providing full service interior design for the project, from space planning through selections, documentation, and furniture, shaping a cohesive experience across the community's shared amenity spaces.
The design concept, Modern Mission, draws on the warmth and craft of the style's architectural roots, wood beamed ceilings, arched openings, and richly patterned tile, and updates it with a more contemporary hand. Deep, saturated color, natural wood tones, and layered pattern bring character to spaces like the amenity lobby and multipurpose room, while cleaner lines and updated silhouettes keep the overall feel current rather than historic. The result is a collection of amenity spaces that feel grounded in Mission's sense of place while giving residents a fresh, elevated place to gather.
